Pre-School - Gymbug JAM Adventures (3-5 Year Olds)
WHY A ROLLY POLLIES PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAM?
NAEYC, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and the US Department of Health and Human Services all recommend that preschool programs offer physical education.
There are many reasons why. First, young children form healthy habits early in life. Secondly, movement can help children develop, not only motorically but emotionally and socially as well.
Our specially designed preschool adventures program is rooted in the belief that learning through doing is fundamental for young children and movement is essential to learning.

- MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS -
Ms. Erica - Fully Credited MSDE Preschool Lead Teacher. Ms. Erica graduated from Chesapeake High School and is now attending Anne Arundel Community College to pursue her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Erica loves to take her knowledge and experience (10 years!) in Cheerleading to incorporate gross motor skills into all of the daily activities. Getting to watch the children she teaches become confident in themselves is one of the favorite parts of her job! Outside of Rolly Pollies, Ms. Erica loves hanging out with her friends.
Ms. Devon - Fully Credited MSDE Preschool Lead Teacher. Ms. Devon has been in the Childcare and Preschool industry since 2016. Her love for children started early and she earned her 90 clock hour certification through her child development program from Chesapeake High School. She has also worked with the Cherry Children's Outreach; a nonprofit foundation to bring music, song, and dance to disadvantaged children through the Metro DC area. She has also gotten additional certifications through Anne Arundel Childcare Connection. As a recent 2020 graduate of Anne Arundel Community College she studied the Arts and Sciences for Dance. Ms. Devon believes that children can learn from song and movement, as well as all physical activity. All of these outlets can promote the growth of fine and gross motor skills for developing the whole child.
Ms. Carolyn - Fully Credited MSDE Preschool Lead Teacher. Prior to becoming a part of the Rolly Pollies family, Ms. Carolyn taught ballet to students from ages 3 yrs to 18 yrs. She graduated High School Valedictorian and then pursued a Health, Wellness, and Physical Education Degree in College. Ms. Carolyn brought her daughter to Bumblebees and Butterflies classes before coming on as a teacher. Teaching young minds via hands-on learning, team building, and movement is Ms. Carolyn's goal. Outside of Rolly Pollies, she is an author, enjoys time with family and friends, and loves playing cards and board games. For Ms. Carolyn, smiles and hugs are always welcomed!
MAKEUP POLICY. While no tuition credit will be given for family vacations or times when a child is home due to illness, Rolly Pollies does allow pre-scheduled make-up classes. If a make-up time in the pre-school class is not available, a gym or open play session may be substituted for the missed class.
